Small worlds

I'm equally confortable doing very large and quite small paintings.  Somtimes the latter are just quick sketches, that I have the sense to leave before over-working, and others are as carefully completed as the big canvases. The images below range from 6" (15cm) to around 12" (30cm) in width.

Giverny: a series of six c.6" square oil sketches

painted after a visit to Monet's garden in Giverny in 2011.

A tiny oil sketch of Sempringham 'Abbey' across the fiels in winter.

Acer in Summer

I have a collection of Acer Palmatum and this one sits really well against darker foliage, with full colour in high summer.

Oils, c.8" square

Sunset: Oil on paper c 8" x 11"

One of those swiflty sketched images where everything just came together in a single sitting.

A triptych, oil on canvas, each element rouhgly 6" (15cm) square.

Glebe land, c 4" x 8", oil on board

A view from my kitchen window, until the field was bought and screened off by hedge and fence.

A small (c.8" x8") oil of canvas after one of my favourite Monet paintings.
