The very end of 2024 and the beginning of 2025 have seen a flurry of small still life studies in oils. I started by undertaking a long-promised copy of a painting of a  lemon I did many years ago, and then moved on to realistic studies of fruit, with the occasional vegetable creeping in.  I am staying with the same scale (8 inches / 20 cms square), layout and stark, dark background for each, and the result is a series of paintings that that could be displayed individually, in pairs, threes, fours, etc, etc. Watch this space for additions!
